An event was held on the occasion of Labor Union Day
On the occasion of November 11, Labor Union Day, an educational event was held at the Directorate of Protection of Andijan region, during which participants were told in detail about the role of the labor union movement in society, its key tasks and goals, as well as mechanisms for protecting the labor and socio‑economic rights of labor union members.
An official definition of a labor union was given as a voluntary public association. It was emphasized that such organizations are formed based on the common professional interests of citizens, including those related to education. It is noted that trade unions operate on the basis of the charter and are called upon to represent and protect the labor and other socio‑economic rights and interests of their members.
The staff received information about the benefits and opportunities provided by the trade unions, as well as about the existing mechanisms of social support for the members of the association and the conditions created for the members of the trade union association.
The meeting ended with an open discussion. The participants exchanged views on the current work of trade unions and discussed possible ways to improve it.
