Cybersecurity is a requirement of the century
The Protection Service of Surkhandarya Region recently held regular informational and awareness‑raising events on the prevention of cybercrimes, with the participation of its staff.
During the meeting, the leadership of the service and responsible officers from the Department for Combating Crimes in the Field of Information Technologies highlighted the urgency of the cybercrime problem in today’s world. They provided detailed information about the most common online fraud schemes and explained how criminals operate using fake links and malicious software.
Participants received important guidance on the measures needed to avoid becoming victims of cybercriminals. In addition, practical recommendations were offered on how to protect personal data, use information technologies safely in official duties, and effectively prevent cyberattacks.
Similar preventive events have also been organized in Bukhara Region at protected facilities. Specialists from the Protection Service conducted comprehensive consultations for citizens and facility staff. During these sessions, they explained prevalent online fraud schemes, provided valuable advice on protecting personal data, and outlined the rules for safely using bank cards and mobile applications.
As part of the outreach efforts, staff distributed informational brochures on cybersecurity. A targeted campaign was carried out to raise public legal awareness and improve digital literacy in matters of information security.
